The short version
Send A Fart (“Send A Fart,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) makes a mobile app for sending fart sounds to your friends. We collect the minimum we need to run it: your phone number to sign you in, the friends and groups you fart with, the sounds you send or record, and a few technical details to deliver notifications. We don't sell your personal information. You can delete your account — and everything in it — from inside the app at any time.

Who this applies to (and an age note)
Send A Fart is intended for users 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their information, email support@sendafart.app and we'll delete it. If you're between 13 and the age of majority where you live, please only use the app with a parent or guardian's permission.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your phone number (used to create and verify your account and to sign you in), a username, a display name, and your time zone.
- Audio you record: if you record your own fart sounds, we store those clips so you and the friends you send them to can play them. Recordings are length-limited (currently 5 seconds on the free tier) and stored encrypted.
- Things you send and do: the farts you send and receive, who you send them to, reactions, groups, friendships, streaks, and achievements.
- Reports you file: if you report content, we collect the report and any details you add so our moderation team can review it.
Contacts (only if you allow it)
To help you find friends who are already on the app, you can choose to sync your device contacts. When you do, we use phone numbers to match against existing Send A Fart accounts. We use this only to surface people you already know — we don't message your contacts or sell contact information. You can decline contact access and still use the app.
Information we collect automatically
- Push notification token: so we can deliver farts and streak reminders to your device.
- Device & diagnostic data: basic device and operating-system information and app diagnostics/crash data to keep the app working.
- Usage data: limited analytics about how the app is used so we can improve it.
Purchases
If you buy the Fart Pass or a sound pack, the purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of what you own — we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
Advertising
The free tier shows ads served by third-party ad networks. These networks may use device identifiers to show and measure ads. You can limit ad tracking in your device's privacy settings, and the Fart Pass removes ads entirely.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: sending and receiving farts, groups, streaks, leaderboards, and achievements.
- To send notifications you've opted into, including farts sent to you and streak reminders.
- To help you find friends (only if you sync contacts).
- To keep the app safe: reviewing reports, enforcing our rules, and preventing abuse.
- To process subscriptions and purchases.
- To fix bugs, improve features, and understand how the app is used.
- To comply with the law and protect our users and our service.
How we share information
We share information only in these situations:
- With other users: when you send a fart, the recipients can see your username, display name, the sound, and any reactions. If you share a fart card link, anyone with that link can play the sound and see the card.
- With service providers: companies that host our data and audio storage, deliver push notifications, serve ads, and provide analytics, acting on our behalf under contract.
- With the app stores: Apple and Google, to process purchases and subscriptions.
- For legal and safety reasons: when required by law, or to investigate abuse, fraud, or threats to people's safety.
- In a business transfer: if the app is acquired or merged, information may transfer as part of that deal.
We do not sell your personal information.
Safety and moderation
Because users can record their own audio, every piece of content has a report and block option, backed by real human moderation. When you block someone, they can't fart you. When content is reported, we can review it and remove content or suspend accounts that break the rules in our Terms of Service.
How long we keep it, and deleting your account
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account — and the recordings, farts, and profile data tied to it — from inside the app at any time. Some limited records may be retained where we're legally required to, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, and backups may persist for a short period before they cycle out.
How we protect it
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption of your recordings in transit and at rest, and access controls that limit who can see your data. No app or online service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep the boring, responsible parts genuinely boring and responsible.
Your choices and rights
- Delete everything: delete your account in the app to remove your data.
- Contacts: allow or deny contact syncing at any time in your device settings.
- Notifications: turn push notifications off in your device settings.
- Leaderboard: opt out of the global leaderboard in the app.
- Ads: limit ad tracking in your device settings, or get the Fart Pass to remove ads.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing (for example under the GDPR/UK GDPR) or the right to know, delete, and opt out of “sales” or “sharing” (for example under the CCPA/CPRA). We honor these rights; to exercise them, email support@sendafart.app. We won't discriminate against you for exercising them.
International users
We operate from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there and in the regions our service providers use. By using the app, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Send A Fart after an update means you accept the revised policy.
